GENERAL INFORMATION ABOUT LASTING EFFECTS(tm) PERMANENT COSMETIC SKIN RESTORATION TECHNIQUES:      Roxanne considers each individual's skin restoration of color to be a custom treatment. Just as with all treatments, a full consultation and evaluation of your concerns  is the first step. This results in a treatment plan with  custom color mixing to match your skin as closely as possible.  It takes time and experience to custom mix an exact or close match for skin color and apply the pigment correctly, in a natural spray pattern of color that simulates real skin tone. The treatment: This includes  topicals to numb the skin,  to ensure your comfort.                             A test area is applied first, to assess actual finished color match.                             After 2 weeks, the color is checked and adjustments made if needed.                          The skin can then be repigmented and the color is restored to the                           "white areas." NOTES: Scar coverup work DOES NOT TAN, because the skin in the white area is not longer capable of tanning. However, a restored area will be much less noticable when you tan, and can be temporarily darked with temporary tan products. Each treatment is different, some require multiple sessions, some only one. A persons' skin type, skin thickness, color level, and presence of thick and thin layers of scar tissue cause pigment to absorb differently. Also, different skin characteristics may be present, or even different colors on parts of the face or body. Different people's skin "works" at different speeds. All of these factors are assessed during the consultation and test patch of treatment. Patience is an element of quality work, Roxannes' goal is not to go fast, but to make a natural blend of the scar into the normal skin that will achieve our mutual goal to make it look natural.

VITILIGO . If the medical methods are not effective for you, an option is to have Roxanne apply Lasting Effects' Custom Mixed Skin Pigment to the vitiligo patches, which is a permanent cosmetic restoration procedure. Below is an example of Roxanne's success in this type of treatment. This process restores the appearance of the skin color. The real reason these type of scars show so much is due to the color change between the normal skin and the fine-line scar. Even though this type of scar may be slightly raised or irregular, remember that they are noticable more due to their white color. Once the color is filled in, they appear to "disappear"! The effectiveness of skin restoration is wonderful for : upper eyelids, for behind the ears, and for carotid or other surgical scars of the face and neck. STRETCH MARKS Roxanne has developed a method to effectively cover "white" stretch marks. Each case is different and must be evaluated for success . We will post pictures soon. BREAST RECONSTRUCTION FOR                                 MASTECTOMY PATIENTS  Roxanne is committed to assisting those with breast cancer receive the best care, and finest result possible after mastectomy. Once the breast restoration surgery is completed, and the woman is cleared by her doctor, "Natural Look" restoration of skin color of the breast can begin. At Lasting Effects (tm) every aspect is considered to give the best results and feelings of natural appearance to each woman. Roxanne suggests two types of work to be completed. First, the nipple area is restored to a natural appearance by creating new borders with natural color, and the entire "nipple" area is filled in. If only one side is to be restored, it is important to duplicate the size, shape and color of the other nipple. Real nipples do not have a line drawn around the outside edge, this is un-natural in appearance. The edge is defined yet soft..as it should be. This is exactly the same method Roxanne uses to create natural liplines for restoring faded lip edges. Did you know that a woman's nipple is normally very similar in color to her lips? This fact is used as a guideline for establishing a shade in double mastectomy. Second is a procedure to restore the color of the fineline scars on the breasts, to minimize the scar appearance. In some surgical procedures, the number of scars on each breast may be three or four, it is an area which should be recolored to blend in and give the appearance of natural skin as much as possible. With custom work for each woman, the end result can be two nipples which are soft in color that match, having the same size and natural edges, with the rest of the breast(s) scar's minimized. LYMPH NODE REMOVAL: If you have had lymph nodes removed, and have fineline scars on your underarm area, these can be colored in and minimized. This may make you feel more  comfortable about wearing short sleeves again. BREAST REDUCTION AND BREAST IMPLANTS Both of these types of surgery involve surgical scars which can be greatly minimized in appearance with skin restoration, recoloring the scars to natural tones.
